Sewing With Sharpie Tie Dye

Everyone was excited to get their tie dyed fabric back and start creating.  After being washed in hot water and dried, the tie dye did fade a little, but it still looked great.
It's funny how as a teacher you often have specific idea of what the project should be; however, the kids have different ideas.  That's what happened here. The teachers envisioned the fabric to be transformed into cute little bags on long ribbon handles.  And while some did just that, most had other ideas.  Pillows being the most common.  I agree, the round shape of the tie dye does make a nice little pillow.  Others cut their fabric to make pins and little dolls, but I didn't manage to get a good photo of those.
Sometimes, you just have go where the fabric takes you.  I think we'll do more of these "design your own fabric" projects in the future.

What a fun project! I'll definitely need to put this on my list of projects for my kids.
