Coverlet fit for a Princess

Summer nights are hot here in Memphis, so a light-weight coverlet (or summer quilt) is necessary.  There is no batting or middle piece - just the front and back tied together.  I've been working on this little number for quite a while and finally finished it.  It should probably be called "an ode to Heather Ross."  Her Far Far Away II fabric was the main inspiration (and a good reason to purchase several yards!).
I began by gathering a large stack of coordinating fabric and then cutting them into various lengths and widths.  Sewed the lengths together into long strips and then sewed the strips together - it's very much like Bend-the-Rules Sewing's Easy Lap Quilt.  The back is pink quilt backing fabric from Hancock's.  Instead of quilting, I did quick ties with yarn.  Phoebe seems to really like it and I think it's the kind of thing that will grow with her as she grows.

Next up, a coverlet for the boy!  I just saw the preview for Far Far Away III - maybe a gnome theme?!

I love the quilt. Who could have made those adorable one of a kind pillows?
