During Sewing Club, there's a group of kids that hardly ever touch a thread and needle. Instead, they delight in playing with the fabric and create elaborate outfits for each other. Fashion shows are a common occurrence.
It also reminds me of my high school years, where I would make "wrap skirts" by wrapping a yard of cute fabric around my waist and fastening it with several safety pins. I remember running into the bathroom in a panic as my skirt began to fall!
This mock poodle skirt caught my eye (and heart). It was made by cutting a slit in the middle of a rectangle of fabric then decorated with a fabric marker. Below is a detail of the little poodle and record player.
