Tapestry Table - Day 1

We have finally begun work on our Fall tapestry. This is a collaborative project using my beloved Tapestree Table. Everyone will have a chance to work on the table during Center time and then it will be open for free time sewing. The whole process takes about two weeks. It's a great way to introduce "real sewing" to new sewers. We use big tapestry needles and yarn.

Today, there was much buzz when the table was introduced. The first group was hesitant at first, but quickly took pleasure in their stitches. The second group discovered that their stitches could cross or go under the previous group's stitches. I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!
