The animals are drawn onto muslin with fabric markers then colored in with crayons. After an ironing to help the crayon set, the animals are backed with felt and sewn together. Despite all the chaos in the room for hour of sewing club, I am always amazed at the creativity and quality of projects produced. I think just giving kids the opportunity and materials needed for sewing, they are able to create what is in their hearts and minds.
