At the Library

My class just got to check out their very first books at the school library.  It was a monumental  occasion.  For some, this was their first experience at checking out a book all by themselves.

The librarian helped by placing some good books to choose from on a shelf.

Then, they visited the checkout desk.  When your book is scanned, it makes a little beep.  I loved how the librarian, Mr. Willis took the time to talk to each child, explain the checkout procedure and comment on the book.

The best part?  Reading your very own book and getting to take it back to the classroom.
