Madison is proudly modeling a scarf she made for her mom for Christmas. There was a scarf factory going on next door in Mrs. Donald's class this week. I had to share.
The scarves are strips of fleece cut 9 inches wide (she got 5 scarves/yard of fleece). The kids fringed the ends and then got to decorating. They used scraps of felt and fleece as well as buttons and bells to embellish them.

Those who enjoy sewing, sewed on decorations such as pockets or their parent's initials or favorite sports teams. For non-sewers, craft glue was used.

Probably one of the best results of this project, was that each child really thought about their parents - what would they like? what is their favorite colors? - to create a one-of-a kind gift.
