Hat of 100 Scraps

Phoebe's homework last week - to make a hat decorated with 100 items in honor on the 100th day of school.  She's such my girl - she decided on 100 fabric scraps.
She cut them into groups of 20 and then sewed them together bunting style.  Then, she sewed the 5 groups of 20 together.  The tricky part was handsewing the super long string of scraps to an old knit cap.

The hat wearers paraded around the school.  Such a fun 1st grade tradition.

To see what my kindergarten class does for the 100th day of school, look here.  I am way too tired from the day to even think about posting something new!
