Joe has Leaves!

Guess what?!  Joe, the tree we've been saying Hi to daily and following all year has baby leaves! 

We rushed outside as soon as this discovery was made to draw the March page in our Joe the Ginkgo Tree books.

How fast will the leaves grow? 

We have now followed Joe through all the seasons.  This simple project has done exactly what I set out to do - become aware of the nature around us, track changes all year long, and promote a common language between my students.  They all hold Joe dear to them and feel that he really is their tree.  Only 2 pages left in our book.  My, how time has flown.
