We are wrapping up our school year with our favorite subject - bugs! These paper plate butterfly life cycles are just too cute that I had to share.
To begin, we read several books about butterflies, talked about their habitats, and discussed the concept of a life cycle.
How to:
Divide a dinner sized paper plate into 4 sections.
Draw a picture for each stage of the butterfly's life in each section. Then use beans and noodles to represent the stages. The kids also labeled the stages.
* Bean (we had Lima beans) for the egg.
* Rotini noodle for the caterpillar.
* Shell noodle for the chrysalis.
* Bowtie noodle for the butterfly.
I really like this idea, thankU
ReplyDeleteLove how the pasta works so well for each stage.
