This week holiday playdough was made in the cooking center. I used the wonderful, no-cook, individual portion sized recipe from Sew Liberated.
Some of the things we learned:
Measuring is very important or your playdough doesn't turn out right. Leveling the flour and salt is needed.
How to use an eye dropper. I used a teaspoon dropper for the oil.
Mix the water, color (just 2 drops), and scent (we used 3 drops of peppermint or cinnamon extract) together then add it to the rest of the ingredients.
If the dough is too dry, add a little water. If it's too wet, add some more flour.
We stored our playdough in snack sized zip locks.
The kids were really able to do this activity independently. I helped by labeling each ingredient with the amount needed. They loved every minute of it and keep asking to make more!
