Project Bag Giveaway

This summer, I have put together summer vacation sewing project bags for friends. Phoebe and I have had fun picking out the perfect fabric, thread, and notions to fill the bags.

I thought you might like one too. The project bag will be filled with a variety of fabrics in various sizes, a little envelope of notions, as well as tools you'll need like needles, thread, needle threader, chalk, and some pattern shapes. (Please note that the supplies are meant for beginning, children sewers.)

Only one bag will be given away. For your chance, just post a comment by Friday, July 24 at 12noon CST. I would love to hear how you've been sewing with kids this summer, although you don't have to have kids to enter. A winner will be chosen by random. The winner will be contacted to check for age, favorite colors, and other important questions so that Phoebe can help me pick out the perfect fabrics. (The items in the picture were for a middle-school aged girl.)

  1. OOooohhh. I want one. If I don't win...I'd love to have a list of things you use in your kits. I think these would make wonderful gifts for some little girls in my life.

  3. I just had my kids make their first sewing project a puppet: http://adventuresofmommyness.blogspot.com/2009/07/puppets.html

It went incredibly well to my mind considering they're 4 and 2. I have a friend whose daughter would love this.

My daughter, Sadie, just turned 8 last week. Her grandmother gave her a Janome sewing machine for Christmas last year. She has been taking sewing classes for children at our local quilt shop. She would love to win your project bag. She went on a three day Quilt Shop Hop with her grandmother last week. Her little stash of fabric is growing. Thanks!

  6. My daughter would love to win this project bag. She is 7 and has been learning hand and machine sewing by making pillows for all of her stuffed animals. We have really enjoyed your blog and have passed on projects to our preschool/summer camp. Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas.

  7. Since it's summer I've just been compiling my list of projects to do with my after schoolers when school starts back.
    Here's one I found today. http://www.craftstylish.com/item/50162/how-to-make-a-pinwheel-pin

  8. So cute!! My fledgling sewer would love one of these... I use the term fledgling because my little rising first grader reminds me of a baby bird more and more each day with her growing independence while she learns how to sew, ride a bike, and fly from my nest!

  9. My daughter would love this! She is 8, and has learned just a little bit of sewing - hemming, stitching a straight line on my 1959 Singer.
