Machine Sewn Situpons for Girl Scouts

I had fun stitching up these cute situpons for my school's Girl Scout troop.  Since they are older (4th graders) and there were only 5 girls, we decided to machine sew them.  I used the Portable Tree Stump pattern from Sewing School 2 and we even had time to add a pocket!

The fabric is actually plastic coated table cloths from the Dollar Store.  I got the ones that are fabric backed.  This way, the situpons are waterproof and can be wiped off easily.
A few girls were new to machine sewing, but they picked it up right away and everyone had success.  We shared 3 machines for 5 girls.

They even earned a Sewing patch for their vests!
