Sewing School 2

This, my friends, is what's been taking up all of my extra bits of time the past week or so.  The proof of Sewing School 2:  Lessons in Machine Sewing!  I'm so excited for it and it's hard to believe that it's really happening.  I can't wait to share the fun projects and awesome pictures with you soon.  The layout mirrors Sewing School, but is definitely a wee bit older and more advanced.

Better get back to editing....the book is currently way too long....we need to figure out how to fix that!

I guess I should have mentioned that the book is due to be released in late spring/early summer - don't worry, I'll keep you in the loop!

Dee - I love that you're sewing with your daughter's class! I'd love to see how their potholders turned out! Great activity this time of year.

Oooh I can't wait! I used your Sewing School book for an after school club for 4 to 8 year olds. I had spent the previous year making it up as I went along. It was such fun to work from your book. I can't wait for your next book. I took my machine to school and did a demonstration. The children were so excited. I can't wait to read your new book. Many thanks for all the great ideas!

Woohoo, so looking forward to this next installation in this GREAT series of books! My 8 year old is getting a sewing machine (the mini your book recommends) and I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning. I really want to tell you how great your book has been in growing my daughter's interest in sewing and her skills and confidence. I use to try to show her things myself but her independent spirit didn't want to hear it from mom! We did the beginning lessons in the book together (tear free!) and now she loves (and so do I) that she can pick up the book on her own and make anything she feels like it on her own terms. She made the fleece hat that she wears everyday to school and even had a classmate request one. For Christmas, she is making a couple of potholders, some stuffies and more. Thank you so much for helping me to pass my passion for sewing and handmade onto my daughter. Your work is helping to insure a future generation of sewers!

We are doing a sewing school Christmas this year (my daughter is getting the book and all the supplies), and this will be a perfect follow-up in a year or two. Thanks for these wonderful books! Don't shorten it too much! I am looking forward to all the ideas.

Thanks so much for all of your comments and support - you have no idea how this makes my day! It's so wonderful to hear kids using and enjoying the book exactly as we intended. Really, I'm beaming!

The proof just went back to Storey for the 2nd round. Look for it this spring/summer!
